yes im the dumb ass that had thomson here for hours fixing my laptop while it was plugged into my desktop.he thought the modem was plugged into the laptop but it was plugged into the desktop.i failed to tell him otherwise.he was re-instlling windows on the laptop for me and was trying to get the internet to work but couldnt figure out why it wasnt.cause my dumbass didnt tell him i handed him the cable that was still plugged into the desktop instead of the modem. by the way hi im soldierdad77 from cobrayouth.

Ya, his HDD was corrupt, so I formated it, and installed a "copy" of Windows Vista. Installed the drivers from DELL, yet everytime HE handed me or plugged in the cat5 cable, it would be local only. I couldnt figure it out. So, I asked him, "where does this cat5 cable plug in?", then he replies with "the desktop computer"

GRRRRRR.....

No fucking wonder it wasnt getting internet. We plugged the desktopPC end of the cat5 back into the modem and guess what?

Internet!

Was just something that soldierdad and I were laughing about....

Ha! Don't worry fellas, this type of thing happens all the time. I can't tell you how many times I have battled the PC demons for hours only to find that I have a loose cable/wire somewhere LOL.

Always check the simple stuff first!!

Thomson failed to mention that I was his target of harassment to test the internet connection...lol
